Mild tire bumps to a 33 often work on a factory ratio or a modest regear to around 4.10–4.56. Many trucks tolerate 33s without regearing, especially big-torque V8s and diesels. We will tell you honestly if you can skip it.
The 35-inch sweet spot for most trucks and Jeeps. 4.56 for torquey trucks that tow lightly, 4.88 for lower-powered engines or anything that works hard. This is where regearing goes from optional to strongly recommended.
For 37-inch tires, 4.88 to 5.13 is the common range, with 5.13 typical on Jeeps and heavier rigs. At this tire size, running stock gears is genuinely hard on the drivetrain — regearing is part of the build, not an add-on.
